Why Is Leather So Frequently Used in the Fashion Industry?

leather fnlFrom street wear to luxury fashion, leather is used quite frequently in the fashion industry. I am sure you have noticed this yourself but have you ever thought about why that is?

Leather is used for both fashion and utility purposes. It is frequently used in the fashion industry for shoes, handbags, jackets, and accessories. Last month during my trip in Italy I bought my first Moschino purse… which was made of leather of course. This is common with luxury handbags being that leather provides superior quality and high fashionable products.

Although leather is used worldwide it is particularly popular in the western half of the world. This would make sense being that it tends to be cooler in these countries. Leather products are great for keeping warmth and style at the same time!

Leather is also well known for the rebellious attitude it gives. This trend first became popular in the 1940’s with the black motorcycle jacket and has stuck ever since. Thank you Hollywood! Leather also has many advantages such as durability, protection against water, and protection against wind. This is also another large reason leather is still frequently used.

However, leather is not only appropriate for fashion but also for home goods (e.g. furniture) and even interiors of cars. The discovery of leather has highly impacted the fashion industry as well as the home décor and car industry. It is essential worldwide and is not too likely to lose its admiration anytime soon.

Comment below what your favorite leather product is. Check out the article below to discover more things you did not know about leather! Thanks for reading! Stay beautiful. https://mahileather.com/blogs/news/10-facts-about-leather-you-didn-t-know

3 Places You Need to Visit in Milan!

Ciao bella! This week I traveled to beautiful Milano and have enjoyed a lot of time sight-seeing. In the four days I’ve been here I have seen and learned a lot. This is the first country I have been to outside of the states so each experience has been new and exciting for me! Here are my three favorite places I have visited so far!

DSCN2155 copyThe Duomo Cathedral is one of Italy’s largest and most famous attractions. It is the world’s largest Gothic cathedral and second largest Catholic cathedral. Duomo di Milano is dedicated to Saint Mary of the Nativity. It took nearly six centuries to build beginning in 1386, being completed in 1965. You are also able to visit inside which is personally my favorite part. Stay tuned for my vlog to see more!

Fun Fact: Duomo di Milano has more statues than any other building in the world with a total of 3,159 statues.

The Navigli is also a very famous attraction in Milan, Italy. The neighborhood is dated all the way back to 1179. The waterways were initially built to connect Milan to the nearby lakes to transport goods which included precious marble from Candoglia, used to build Duomo di Milano.

Fun Fact: Legend has it that Leonardo Da Vinci helped develop the renovation of Milan’s canals in 1482.

Corso Como 10 is a very famous concept store in Milan, Italy. In 1990, Carla Sozzani, former fashion editor and publisher, opened a gallery featuring art, photography, fashion, and design called Galleria Carla Sozzani. It is located in garage 10 of Corso Como in Milan. More than 250 exhibitions have taken place here. It is a great place for both tourists and locals. Corso Como 10 also has a cafe which makes it a perfect place for lunch!

Fun Fact: The gallery has its own publishing company which is dedicated to art, photography, fashion, and design like the gallery.

Milan is a very beautiful city with many different attractions and things to do! I have only been here four days and have already experienced so much. Being in the world’s fashion capital has been a dream come true for me! If you love fashion and art as much as I do then you will be sure to love it to! Stay tuned for more adventure! Ciao!
